Window Cleaning Tips

Of all the aspects involved in cleaning an RV, windows can often prove most difficult. Streaking
is one of the most common negative results of cleaning windows incorrectly. Your RV glass can
appear perfect and when the sun hits the right angle you can barely see out of the window
because of streaking. It can be dangerous.

Here are some tips to make this process much easier and enjoy crystal clear windshields and
windows.

If it is at all possible, clean your RV windows in the shade. It is the heat and direct sunlight that
make the process difficult. If you have to clean them in the direct sun, cooling the window first
helps tremendously. This can be accomplished by using a spray glass cleaner sprayed liberally
on the window then buffing the glass dry with a clean dry towel.

Wet towel, dry towel.

This is a huge advantage in cleaning your windows. It also works for chrome. When you spray
on the cleaner (CleanRv uses Sprayway in the white and blue spray can) then buff dry with a
clean microfiber towel, your dry towel quickly becomes wet with foam cleaner. From that point
you won’t have to use as much cleaner, and you’ll need to grab another dry towel. This towel
will need to remain dry. From time to time you can ring out the wet towel; to the extent that it is
only damp. This will prevent the dry towel from becoming wet. The order is; spray with cleaner,
clean the window with the damp towel, then buff dry with a clean dry towel. The shorter the time
between cleaning ( wet towel ) and buffing ( dry towel ); the better the result and chances of
having crystal clear flawless windows.
